2.27.2023 | @ Mentions

Wisr's new @ Mentions feature allows members to tag fellow community members in discussions and posts in an effort to increase connections and draw more attention to relevant information.

Note: A member has to have joined a community in order to be tagged in it.

How Does It Work?

  • A member can tag another member by typing "@" followed by the desired individual's first and/or last name (e.g., @Clarissa Darling). The member's first and last name will appear in the search results.
  • Clicking on the member name from the search results will tag that member, and the name of the tagged member will be hyperlinked. This indicates that the member has been successfully tagged.
  • Note: A member may tag multiple members at a time.

  • Once successfully tagged, a profile card will appear when hovering over each tagged member.
  • Clicking on the profile card will take a user directly to the tagged member's profile.

Where Can Members be Tagged using @ Mentions?

There are 3 places that @ Mentions can be used:

  1. In discussion topics and posts
  2. In the community About section
  3. In the Welcome message on the Home dashboard

Discussion Topics and Posts:

  • Members can be tagged in a discussion topic or post within a community. Members can be tagged while editing an existing topic or posting a reply to a topic.

Note: Only active members who are a part of a community can be tagged in topics or posts.

About Section:

  • Members can also be tagged in the About section for any given community.

Note: Only active members who are a part of a community can be tagged in the About section.

Welcome Message:

  • The Welcome message can be customized by tagging any active members as well. The Welcome message can be managed through Site Settings on the admin backend.
