4.10.2023 | Web App Notifications

Wisr has improved the back end infrastructure for web app notifications that are accessible via the bell icon in an individual's Wisr site. In addition to opening up opportunities for future innovations and notification settings, these improvements have:

1. Streamlined notification counts where applicable (e.g., multiple calls will now be displayed as one "missed call" notification.) 

2. Expanded notification counts where appropriate (e.g., message counts from the same member will be displayed as the number of messages received instead of one general "message" notification.)

3. Added clarity and context to notifications (e.g., "request call" has been updated to "{Member} requested a call with you."

As a reminder: 

You can continue to track the number of unread notifications, read certain notifications (some more clearly as a result of improvements), and navigate to the appropriate site page when clicking on the notification. 

The bell icon displays notification details and provides a count of total unread notifications. As notifications are read, the details will be removed from the bell icon. The total count of unread notifications is dynamically adjusted once each notification has been read. 

What types of notifications will appear?

• replies to posts;
• member connections; and
• calls between members

Are the improvements available in the iOS application?

Yes! These improvements are available in a native iOS application.
