Outgoing and Incoming Service Account Setup
This article outlines how to configure both Outgoing and Incoming Service Accounts in Slate.
Outgoing Service Account (Sending Data to Wisr)
To send data to Wisr, you will need to create an Outgoing Service Account (Remote) user in your Slate instance. Follow the steps below:
- Click on the Database icon (cogwheel) in the navigation bar
- Navigate to Users & Access and select User Permissions
- Select New User
- Create a Service Account (Remote) User: Follow the steps below
- First Name: Service Account
- Last Name: Wisr (Outbound)
- Preferred/Short Name: Wisr Outbound Service Account
- Email: Enter an email address that is able to receive email notifications (in case of failures or errors)
- User Type: Service Account (Remote)
- User ID: This User ID will be supplied by your contact at Wisr.
- If this does not match, the export will fail.
- IMPORTANT: This will be used and referenced in all queries in setup. Take note of this User ID
- SSH Private Key: Wisr uses RSA SSH encryption to transfer data via SFTP. Enter your private key here.
- To create an SSH Key Pair, please follow our documentation here.
- Please note: EAB will never ask for your private key. Do not share this private key with anyone outside of your organization.
- Please connect with your contact at Wisr for more information on how to create an RSA public/private key pair.
- Enable Account
- Click Save
- The Outgoing Service Account (Remote) is now configured
Incoming Service Account (Receiving Data From Wisr)
To receive data into Slate, you will need to create an Incoming Service Account User in your Slate instance.
Follow the steps below:
- Click on Database icon (cogwheel) in the navigation bar
- Navigate to Users & Access and select User Permissions
- Click the New User button
- Create a Service Account User: Follow the steps below
- In the Users Tab
- First Name: Service Account
- Last Name: Wisr (Incoming)
- Email: Enter an email address that is able to receive email notifications (in case of failures or errors)
- Preferred/Short Name: Wisr Incoming Service Account
- User Type: Service Account
- Note: This is different a different User Type than the Outgoing Account Setup
- User ID: wisr-incoming
- Password: Leave Blank
- Client Certificate: Leave Blank
- Enable Account for Access
- In the Roles Tab
- Permissions (Exclusive): SFTP Access
- SSH2 Public Key: Enter the Public Key provided by the Wisr team.
- Note: this public key must come directly from the Wisr team
- Path Restriction: /incoming/wisr/
- Note: Ensure that the specified folder in the Path Restriction setting exists, or the user or service account will not be able to access the SFTP site. Slate Documentation for more details.
- Allowed Networks: 52.22.165.57
