Events: Creating and Managing Site-Wide Events

Wisr's Events Module allows you to create and manage events from both the member and administration side of the site.

The Events Tab

Go to the member-facing side of your account and navigate to the Events section using the main navigation on the top of the screen. Once there, you can: 

  • View and search site-wide events and community events in one place
  • Filter by past or upcoming events
  • Filter to include or exclude community events
  • Create new events

Creating a Site-Wide Event

Administrators can create site-wide events from either the member site or administration site ( Note: Members cannot create site-wide events).

From the member site, navigate to  Events and click the [+] button in the top right-hand corner next to the Upcoming and Past tabs. This will open a form where you can enter the details of your event. Give your event a Name and add the location, time and any extra information here. If you are using another tool to track registrations, include a link to this site. The Description box is a rich-text editor so you can include flyers, videos or any other promotional marketing content you might want to include about the event. When you are finished inputting the information for this event, click Save. The event will then show up in the Upcoming tab.

Viewing community events in the Events tab

For convenience, community events will also be displayed in the Events section. They'll include a note that indicates which community the event was posted in, and also provide a link to that community.

Managing Events from the Admin Site

Go to your administration site and navigate to the  Events tab, located on the left side of the screen.

Once there, you can can see all events in your site in one place and see by the following event data:

Field Description
Name The name of the event.
Start Time The time and date the event starts
End Time The time and date the event ends.
Event Type Where the event was created (in a Community or in the Site-Wide tab)
Created by Email
The email of the member that created the event.
Delete/View Event
If you click the ellipsis on the far right you can delete event or view them from the member-facing side of the site.
